Biography:
Kanan Jarrus, a prominent character in the animated TV Show Star Wars Rebels, first appeared in the episode "Spark of Rebellion, Part 1". He is a Jedi Knight who survived Order 66, the purge of the Jedi Order.
Formerly known as Caleb Dume, he went into hiding and adopted the name Kanan Jarrus to conceal his identity from the Galactic Empire. He abandoned many of the ways of the Jedi, becoming a smuggler and a cowboy type rogue, more familiar with blasters than Lightsabers.
Over the course of Rebels, Kanan becomes a mentor to Ezra Bridger, a Force-sensitive youth, and rediscovers his connection to the Force. He trains Ezra in the ways of the Jedi while fighting against the Empire as part of the growing rebellion. Kanan ultimately sacrifices himself to save his friends, completing his journey from fugitive to a true Jedi Knight.
